To be able to terminate a computer virus, we must first know more about it. Here is a basic description of what a computer virus is: 

virus: a software program capable of reproducing itself and usually capable of causing great harm to files or other programs on the same computer; "a true virus cannot spread to another computer without human assistance"

A computer virus acts much like it would if it infected a human – it spreadsthroughout your system, infecting and harming everything it can.  You should install a good anti-virus on your Pc to protect it against viruses. I suggest Kaspersky:
