No problem. G means Sol in the Do Re Mi Fa...etc format.

So G has 7 other members in its family. Roman numberals 1-7 (I-II-III-Iv-V-Vi etc...) in this particular format,

we have ( I which is One) then IV which is 4 then V which is 5 etc...

so this means that I-IV-V-iii-vi-IV-V would be tranlated to 1-4-5-3-4-5.  in music lower cases count so it would be 1-4-5-3minor(cause iii are in lower case)-6 minor(cause vi is lower case meaning its minor)-4-5.

I know this is confusing....

but then every number gets a letter

Majors mean roman numerals are in upper case

I=C

II- D

III- E

IV-F

V-G

VI-A

VII-B

Minors means roman numerals are in lower case

i-Cm

ii-Dm

iii-Em

iv-Fm

etc...
