LOL... Giiiiirl my first experience was HORRIBLE. I remember I was 13 and my dad always wanted me to learn how to play piano so I could play in church so he signed me up to take lessons with an instructor. Girl I went to 2 lessons and never went back. She was so mean and rough. I remember she would grab my hands all rough and put them where they needed to go. I was like, "OH HECK NO!". I never went back after that. But I still had my little beginner piano and 1 day my cousin (who actually doesn't play piano at all now) taught me how to play "Amarte Solo a Ti". It was only 3 chords so after learning that I just stuck with it, started playing around with it more, and PRAYING. And girl mira, Dios me dio el talento. All I say to you girl is if you really want it PRAY y pidele al Senor. He's an AWESOME God and he can give you that talent. At first it's hard and confusing but God is good y el te puede capacitar. Just don't give up! =) God Bless!

Hi there. I would like to share with you how I learned piano. I spent hours and hours listening to song after song after song. My favorite music is salsa and merengue so i would keep hearing it and try to imitate it. I would try to play by ear basically. Try to make the same sounds that you are hearing. What helped me also is that you should know the all the basic minor and major chords for every note and which ones go together. Another idea is to try to make you right and left hand get in sync. Everything you play you should be able to do so with both hands at the same time. Hope this helps.

Hello, God bless! Well, when i first grabbed the piano it was kinda by accident cuz i was just really bored... lol. And at 1st i didnt know.. umm nada but i did get some lil tonitos here and there. And what I would do is play the lil songs the piano had in it and do my own melody to them. But really after a lot of practice I slowly learned chords by myself, the glory is God's. I practiced alone for hours (i was like 12ish) everyday after school. But all I have to say is that it takes time and  a lot of devotion. Like Lehighnumerouno sed, it's good to hear songs and to try to imitate them. When Fosforito's 2nd cd came out i imitated and learned some of his songs. Most of them were in C#. Look, just practice hard, be patient, and love music. You have to love it. If not, then i dont know what to tell you. And PRAY!! God will give you the talent like He has to me and to many others. I hope this helped. God bless!!

The first piano I played was the smallest one ever. Basically  toy. God really blessed me with a better one.

There were no musicians at our church. All we had was a set of cheap drums and a beginner keyboard. I wanted to play it! So I bought a little book de Inspiracion and I learned with that, at first I only played with one hand :). But it was better that not having music. One day I just started trying to do the same thing with the other hand lol, it was hard trying to do the same thing at the same time with both hands.. and I played for like a 2 yrs and then someone else took over. There was nobody to teach me so I don't know how to play like merengue or salsa you know? But I'm going to start playing again soon so I need to get up to date. I know this is what I want to do because I hear a song that I really like and immediately i'll pretend i'm playing (usually in my car lol)....and I tried to teach my sister lo poco que se but she just doesn't want to play...so it's not for everyone. Hechale MUCHAS ganas!
